I have a confession I need to make… I am secretly a thriftaholic. Yes…I secretly clip coupons, hunt for bargains, and my heart even races just a little when I find a steal of a deal! Aside from my loving husband, none of my family and friends know about this. I live in an area where couponing is rather uncommon and where thifty is definitely not a term of endearment. I’ve heard that one of the first steps to “recovery” is to accept and confess…so here it goes. Enjoy my blog!
Very cute!

Oh for a term!!!! I feel EXACTLY the same way you do! I had to give away 20 tubes of toothpaste (as my almost free stock pile was up to 30) so that my husband wouldn’t complain when I purchased more (darn CVS and RiteAid for their constant loss leaders). Lately I’ve come to the realization that when there is no room for more $.20 BC fruit snacks boxes in the cupboard (because I’ve already purchased 20 or so with coupons and back to school promos) then I shouldn’t buy any… but if I add 5 to my next shopping order I’ll get $3.50 off my next Kroger trip, making them less than free… maybe they won’t melt/get hard if I store them above the washer!?! Obviously I haven’t cured my THRIFTAHOLIC nature as I just found your blog today surfing another blogger’s updates! If you start a support group to help break the cycle, let me know, I need all the help I can get (or maybe just the next Meijer matchups – can’t beat the mealbox coupons with MQs!)
Maybe we should start that support group…LOL
Too funny! I ust moved from SC to CT, and what a culture shock! In SC, just about everyone is on to the whole coupon world/drug store deals! However, here in CT, it seems like I’m the alien from another world talking about “free toothpaste” and such! Thanks for your site, as my “southern” sites don’t help me with these northern grocery stores!
Welcome to my neck of the woods! The one good thing about living where we do is that we don’t need to “fight” for the freebies
We live in a very affulent area where those of us- probably only me and a few of my close friends- are looked down on as being poor trash (even though we live in the same neighborhoods and go to the same churches, schools, etc.) just for being thrifty. I absolutely am also a thriftaholic!! I get all fuzzy inside when I save lots of money on groceries, clothes, or ANYTHING!!! There is no better feeling to me then to be able to save my family money so that I am able to be a stay at home wife and mother. I just found your site, and I love it!! I agree with reiko2009… we should start a support group!!!!
